Innovation in infrastructure
I’ve been getting out and about talking to infrastructure organisations and sector leaders about their concerns. While doing this I have been inspired by work going on in infrastructure organisations:
‘Together We Are Stronger’ is One Knowsley’s new strapline. This speaks powerfully of their mission to connect and support not only the voluntary sector, but also to the local business community, through a policy to buy local first. This has had great benefits to their organisation and to the sector. They have also devised an innovative four tier membership model:
1) free for locally rooted organisations
2) paid membership for externally based organisations
3) an ‘enhanced’ membership level for organisations willing to pay for a package of development
4) a corporate and public sector membership band. What I found particularly interesting was that corporate members can buy the enhanced membership for a local charity as an act of corporate social responsibility.
