Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) Funding session – Community of Practice
December 2 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Do you have an idea to reduce violent crime within Knowsley? This time sensitive opportunity of funding to boost capacity will be of interest.
Merseyside Police has been allocated funding to combat the surge of violent crime throughout the region through their Merseyside Violence Reduction Unit (VRU). As a new initiative, One Knowsley has been selected to administer the allocation of circa £50,000 funds to Knowsley-based community organisations. This allocation of funding will be delivered in partnership with the Safer Knowsley Partnership who have also received funding working within the same timescales.
Merseyside VRU funding for community organisations has been made possible as part of the wider work of One Knowsley and their work with VS6 and ongoing programme with CVS organisations in Liverpool, Sefton, Halton, St Helens and the Wirral. Working in partnership throughout Liverpool City Region and closely with Merseyside Police to enable a social and public health approach to tackling crime.
If you consider your group or organisation can contribute to making Knowsley a safer place, through collaboration and joint-working, we are hosting an informal information session utilising an asset based action network model (Community of Practice), scheduled to take place on the 2nd of December, 9am – 12pm at The Venue, Civic Way, Huyton, Liverpool L36 9GD.
The funding will work towards the following priorities, which are aligned to Merseyside VRU’s Mission Statement;
- Criminal Exploitation
- Child Sexual Exploitation
- Offensive Weapons
- Anti-social Behaviour
- Crime and Community
- Peer Pressure
Given the tight timescale we will be running the programme as a Community of Practice which will bring together those groups funded through this initiative to help share best practice and learning. Groups who are successful must be willing to take part in the Community of Practice which will require attendance at a minimum of two meetings.
Join us on the 2nd December for more information on the Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) Funding.
