Covid-19: Advice for Social Sector Organisations

In response to the numerous requests we have had for advice, information and guidance we have created a shared platform with our partners in VS6 to keep you up to date and answer some of the many questions, including concerns specific to the Sector (Covid-19 VCFSE information resource).

We are working closely with Knowsley Better Together strategic partners.  Colleagues within VS6 and the Social and Solidarity Economy movement to plan and action support that will enable resilience within the Social Sector at this time and beyond.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the One Knowsley team directly should you not find the information you are seeking.  As this situation continues to change at a pace we advise that you check in on a regular basis to this page and importantly directly to the links to resources contained within it for the most current and upto date information.

Key messages we want to share with you as you visit our site today;

Be kind.  Now is the time to be a good neighbour.  Knowsley Communities are full of personality and strong, if you do one thing for others continue to look out for your neighbour who may be feeling isolated, anxious or in a period of self-isolation.  If you are being offered support please do not let strangers into your home, hand over large amounts of cash or share your bank details.  If you are offering support please work to Public Health guidelines on social distancing and keep yourself safe.

If you have time you can give to others, look for local community, voluntary and faith organisations within your neighbourhood who will already have the structures in place to support you to volunteer within the group and give back to your local community.  We are working on how best to connect people to local social action at the scale we anticipate so please get in touch if you require support with this.

If you are a new group that has come together – let us know, please get in touch with us and also access the resources on this page.

If you currently volunteer and are unable to do so within your current group (for example if the group is not meeting at this time) please let us know, we can potentially get you involved locally in other volunteering opportunities that will be scaling up there activity for our most vulnerable community members.

One Knowsley continue to work with our partners on ways we can support the sector to support the most vulnerable in our communities at this time.  We will continue to update this page as our central plans evolve.
